Milling

With the capacity to mill logs up to 18’ long and 60” wide we can cut nearly any material brought to us. With multiple sawmills geared toward different styles of milling, our goal is to always maximize the yield of material brought to us and have it cut to your specifications in the best way possible. 

Kiln-Drying

Kiln drying is recommended to all customers. It is offered as an industry standard eliminating many variables in a piece of wood, improper kiln drying can result in moisture pockets, case hardening, and excessive strain on the piece. When done properly kiln drying ensures the stability of a piece, removing potential insects that may be embedded, and creating consistent material to work with. This service is offered to allow customers to take material they have had previously cut and take it a major step closer to being safe to use in a finished product. 

Flattening

When wood is finished drying it is not perfectly flat, flattening surfaces both sides of the material removing imperfections making it far easier to work with, so that uneven surfaces become as flat as a slab of granite. Our equipment can surface 18’ long and 72” wide fulfilling nearly all customer needs. We surface both wood and epoxy. 

Custom Woodworking

Bloom and Johnson has a fully operational custom woodworking shop and finishing room with all the equipment necessary to create and build finished, ready-to-install pieces that will stand the test of time. While we do this daily for customers using our products, offering this as a service allows us to turn your material into a finished piece for your home or office.

With unmatched customer service and space for you to come see our products in person, you are able to meet with us about your vision and ideas while in the charming small town of Davidson. We carry set Open hours on Wednesday and Saturday but are available on other days for appointments
